This is probably the post which I think I am less qualified to make but one which I think is important.
I had a chat one day with a former colleague and he mentioned Polio and cures. I did hear of the word Polio before but had forgotten all about it so I did some research and saw the devastation, particularly paralysis, that it caused across the globe. Even though it is considered to be practically eradicated, some countries still experience this disease and so it can still spread. What made me write about it was that I instantly remembered forgotten experience of spending all day at the clinic only to spend less than a half hour with a nurse for two drops or a shot of a vaccine. It may seem insignificant, but would ultimately prevent a lifetime of pain and struggle for Parents and Child alike. The reality is that i’m not sure how many bosses care about the reasons for people not being at work. Sure there are laws and vacation days and private doctors, but sometimes time out of office is chided as absenteeism, private care is expensive and there are seemingly more reports of people who take matters into their own hands and opt not to vaccinate or get proper medical care.
While we are no experts, we can only say that having healthy children is best for all, including yourself, your attendance sheet and your employment record.
