The Great House was built in the 1940’s, on the site of an old Quaker Battery Station, using the steel of the old island railway for its structure & solid coral stone for cladding. Known as Camelot and once a sea side retreat for the Hayes family, it was sold in 1968 to the Godsal family who renamed it Cobblers Cove after the frigate birds which fly around the bay.
By the 1980s, Cobblers was well established as a luxury boutique hotel with a reputation for fine food . Cobblers has now been a much-loved, family-owned hotel for over fifty years, our popularity owing as much to our two beaches & spectacular gardens as to the charm of our long serving staff.
